The General Wellness Blood Test - Male determines overall health in men. This test can be used to detect medical conditions such as heart disease or diabetes or monitor previous health problems.

The panel includes lipid testing to detect cardiovascular disease; a comprehensive metabolic panel that assesses the body’s metabolism; a complete blood count and iron testing to detect anemia; T3, T4, and TSH to determine thyroid function; hemoglobin A1c to screen for diabetes; c-reactive protein to detect inflammatory conditions; testosterone to check for male reproductive problems; uric acid for gouty arthritis; and magnesium, vitamin B12 and vitamin D for any nutritional deficiencies.

  • Test Instructions :

    Fasting required 

    Please do not exercise prior to testing. It is best that your blood is taken in a rested state.


    • Complete Blood Count (CBC) with Differential and Platelets Blood Test:
      -

    • Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP-14):
      - Fasting specimen is preferred

    • Hemoglobin A1C blood test (HgbA1c):
      -

    • Lipid Panel Blood Test:
      - Fasting is not required prior to collection of a lipid panel.
      The assay manufacturer Beckman Coulter advises: "N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC), when administered in therapeutic concentrations (for the treatment of acetaminophen overdose), has been. . . determined to interfere with assays for. . . cholesterol, uric acid" where "NAC interference may lead to falsely low results." According to Beckman Coulter, the NAC interference should be insignificant by 12 hours after completion of the initial loading dose of an IV infusion treatment regimen consisting of an initial loading dose of 150 mg/kg administered over 1 hour, a second dose of 50 mg/kg administered over 4 hrs and a third dose of 100 mg/kg administered over 16 hrs.


    • Magnesium Blood Test:
      - Non Required

    • Total Testosterone Blood Test (Male):
      - This test should be collected in the morning (8:00-10:00 a.m.)

    • Thyroid-stimulating Hormone Blood Test (TSH):
      - Specimen collection after fluorescein dye angiography should be delayed for at least 3 days. For patients on hemodialysis, specimen collection should be delayed for 2 weeks.

    • Uric Acid Blood Test:

    • Iron and Total Iron-binding Capacity (TIBC):
      - Samples should be taken in the morning from patients in a fasting state, since iron values decrease by 30% during the course of the day and there can be significant interference from lipemia.
